Toll Charges for 712 Area Code Phone Numbers

Telecommunications users in the 712 area code now have to start paying toll charges on their calls. This change, which went into effect on Monday, October 1, was announced by AT&T in July. The toll applies to both landline and cell phone users and applies to all calls, including those within the 712 area code. In a statement, AT&T said that the move was made in order to "offset increased costs associated with providing service in this area."

The charge for calls is $0.02 per minute, and there is no cap on how much users can be charged. This is in addition to the regular charges for phone calls, which vary depending on the type of call and the length of the call.

Many people in the area are unhappy with the new toll, with some calling it a "tax." Others argue that the charge is a fair way to offset the increased costs of providing service in the area.

What do you think? Is the new toll fair or unfair? Let us know in the comments.
